This is the first time I have ever worked on a scientific poster reflecting my experiment, so I was a patient learner at that time. My group came up with the idea of changing the distance of mirror and water tank as the independent variable, and finished the experiment on how the distance of the mirror affects the agonistic response of Betta splendens. I used google slide for the first time, and working with team at the same time on google slide was fun. I focused on the introduction part of the poster, and of course, I'm the one who starts the presentation and set the tone for my group!

After several assignments of experiments, as you can tell, my skills in making scientific posters are improving gradually. The poster has three clear columns and precise graph and data. It took my group less time to finish the whole poster, as we get to know each other better, and gained experience for making a scientific poster. Some knowledge of statistics is applied on this poster to calculate the mean value, variance, and standard deviation of our data, to draw the error bars in our graph, giving audience a more direct view of the possible errors in our data.

The Wildflower Project is a tradition in Biology and ESL Science class at Sandy Spring Friends School. During this two-month project, we can have a better understanding on wildflowers in Northeastern America. The project’s objective is to gain students’ awareness of wildflowers in our community and environment. My persistency and time management are also challenged in two months.
I would say it is the most interesting part of my biology class in the whole year. Almost every afternoon after practice or after school, I went for a walk to hunt for wildflowers. I got to know the woods behind the campus much better. In a car ride, I would put down my phone, and look out of the window to look for flowers on the roadside. My outdoor exercising time increased a lot by itself. I deeply feel the magnificent and wild nature, and I'm happy to be a member in it.
"flowers carry on dialogues with him through the graceful bending of their stems and the harmoniously tinted nuances of their blossoms. Every flower has a cordial word which nature directs toward him." ------Auguste Rodin
